Ambassador highlights growing Pakistan-Poland cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Poland`s Ambassador Maciej Pisarski on Thursday said Polish oil and gas company, which was a part of Oren Group, has invested half a million US dollars in gas exploration projects in Sindh.
`We are very happy to see this success, which comes in the form of Pal(istani gas supplied to Pal(istani consumers at amuch, much cheaper competitive price. I thinl( it`s especially now important, during the time of turmoil and elevated risks and uncertainties because of the situation in the Middle East. This cooperation comes with the deployment of very advanced technology, know-how, and also the passing on of vocational specialized training for the Pakistani specialists.
The ambassador was addressing a `Meet the press` session at theNational Press Club Islamabad, where he discussed bilateral relations, regional stability, economic cooperation and global security challenges.
The ambassador emphasised the importance of diplomacy, dialogue and regional cooperation and security, while praising Pal(istan`s role in promoting peace and mediation amid ongoing international tensions.
He said relations between Pakistan andPoland were `warm, friendly and steadily expanding` across multiple sectors.
The envoy particularly highlighted Pal(istan`s role in mediation efforts related to tensions between the United States and Iran, saying Islamabad occupied a unique diplomatic position because of its ability to maintain communication with all sides.
`Only a few countries maintain relations with both parties involved in theconflict. This reflects the trust both sides place in Pakistan despite existing concerns,` he remarked.
The ambassador said Poland strongly supported negotiations and diplomacy as the preferred means for resolving disputes and reducing tensions.
Referring to the RussiaUkraine conflict, Ambassador Pisarsl(i said the war should be resolved in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the internationally recognisedprinciples of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
`These are not only European values, but universal human values,` he said.
Discussing bilateral relations, Ambassador Pisarski said recent high-level exchanges between Pal(istan and Poland had opened a `new chapter` in political consultations and cooperation between the two countries. He referred to the recent visit of Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sil(orsl(i to Pakistan, dur-ing which he held meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari.
Ambassador Pisarsl(i said bilateral trade between Pal(istan and Poland had reached approximately $1.3 billion and was moving on a positive trajectory. He identified technology, management, information technology and investment as important sectors with significant potential for future cooperation.
