Official seeks uplift package for Mohmand border areas

GHALANAI: Hundreds of Essakhel tribesmen have returned to their native areas after the government writ was restored in the border areas of Blazai subdivision, where various development projects have also been completed as the KP governor had approved a special pacl(age in 2015.
This was stated by outgoing assistant political agent Pir Abdullah Shah while speaking at a farewell function arranged in his honour at the Mohmand Press Club on We dnesday.
He said when he took charge two years ago militancy had displaced hundreds of tribesmen from their homes, but the sacrifices of security forces and tribesmen had helped restore peace in the region.
`Several checkposts have been established near the Pak-Afghan border to keep an eye on the militants`movement,` he said.
Mr Shah said the border area was still backward and urged the federal government to sanction a special development package for the area.
ROAD ACCIDENT: A man was killed and another seriously injured in a road accident in Mian Mandi Bazaar in Haleemzai tehsil, local residents said.
A speeding car struck two persons while wall(ing, killing one of them on the spot, while injuring the other, who was shifted to Peshawar in critical condition. The deceased was identified as Ramazan and the injured Mir Rehman. Correspondent
