QUETTA: Security forces killed four more terrorists in a continuing operation in the hilly areas of Balochistan`s Kalat district, the InterServices Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The operation follows a successful intelligencebased operation (IBO) conducted on July 19 in the district, during which four terrorists affiliated with the `Indian proxy Fitna al Hindustan` were killed, the ISPR said.
A sanitisation operation was carried out on July 21 in the surrounding areas.
During this operation, four more terrorists were neutralised and a terrorist hideout was dismantled. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives was seized from the site, it added.
`Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts by Indian proxies at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, the ISPR said.
In May, the government officially designated all terrorist organisations operating in Balochistan as Fitna al Hindustan.
The operations in Kalat are part of the security forces` efforts to combat terrorism and maintain order in the province. The region has experienced a series of violent incidents in recent months, including attacks on passenger buses and security personnel.
Earlier this week, three people were killed and seven others were injured as a passenger bus was fired upon in Kalat.Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday commended the security forces for eliminating eight terrorists in Kalat.
The president said the security forces took out the enemies of the country `with a display of bravery and professional capacity`, adding that the nation was standing with its brave troops in the fight against terrorism.
The prime minister also appreciated the security forces. He stressed that the nefarious designs of terrorists, who were inflicting harm upon the lives and properties of innocent civilians, would be foiled.
