LARKANA: The Anti-Terrorism Court of Larkana on Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of killing a policeman six years ago.
The accused, Deedar Magsi, was produced in court by the Larkana jail police when the judgement was pronounced by Judge Altaf Hussain Dayo.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs30,000 on the convict.
The policeman, Wazir Ali Magsi of the Bahram police station had lost his life in an encounter between a police team and a gang of criminals along Dargah Hakim Shah link road in Qambar-Shahdadkot district on Jan 4, 2020.
The case against Deedar, along with his associate, Saddam Magsi, was lodged by constable Muharram Ali Magsi on behalf of the state. Saddam Magsi reportedly died some time ago. Deedar Magsi had absconded soon after the encounter and could be arrested after about one year ago.Correspondent
