SUKKUR: A large number of people staged a protest demonstration at Sukkur Civil Hospital on Wednesday against police officials of C-Section police station accusing them of causing the death of a father of three children.

The protesters told media persons that the police officials barged into Rao Majid`s house in Old Sukkur Colony and dragged him away to police station where they locked him up.

They said that after an hour, the police officials phoned the deceased`s family and informed them that Rao Majid had been shifted to Sukkur Civil Hospital as he had consumed some poisonous substance.

The protesters and the deceased`s family members said that when they reached the hospital the paramedical staff was absent and Rao Majid had already died.

They alleged that the police officials had beaten Majid to death. -Correspondent
