200 ilgrims declared hea without tests

KASUR: The district health authorities on Monday declared over 200 pilgrims out of 259 pilgrims as healthy without properly checking them.

The pilgrims had reportedly returned from Iran and Saudi Arabia after visiting the holy places.

The Covid-19 suspects from various parts continue to land in the district health facilities, though none of them had been declared positive so far. Another suspected patient had been admitted to the isolation ward of the DHQ Hospital.

Muhammad Anwar of village Q adiwind who had returned to Pakistan a few days back was admitted to the DHQ Hospital where the staf f sent his blood samples of to L ahore for test.

Health Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Nazir Ahmed formed a team to examine 259 people who returned from Iran and Saudi Arabia after visiting the holy places.

According to Ahmed, over 200 pilgrims did not show any signs and symptoms of the fatal virus.

An of ficial, on condition of anonymity, said the team did not bother to visit the pilgrims, having potential to carry the virus rather it contacted them on phone and gave report to the high-ups.

The CEO said when the pilgrims did not mention any signs and symptoms of the infection, they should be considered healthy.

Earlier, Ali Ahmed of village Noorpur was admitted to the DHQ Hospital. Ahmed had stayed at Mansehra with a friend of his who had returned from China last week.

The reports of his test are expected arrive today (Tuesday).

Earlier, about half a dozen of suspects were reported negative for Covid-19.
