KARACHI: Three-day PakPlas2017 international exhibition of plastic machinery, equipment, raw material and technology, which attractedthousandsoftrade visitors, concluded on Sunday at the Expo Centre.
The exhibition was organised by the Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers Association (PPMA) to promote the country`s industry, the organisers said.
PPMA patron-in-chief Zakaria Usman suggested that the government should take five per cent overall tax and allow the plastic industry to independently play its part in the national economy.
This, he maintained, would ensure industrialisation and creation of jobs.
Mr Usman said that earlier people used tin plates but now plastic was used everywhere. Half of the airplanes and cars were made of plastic and the government should help the raw material industry, he said.
More than 80 companies from all over Pakistan and abroad displayed their products, technology and machinery at the event.
Earlier, a cake-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the success of the exhibition.-APP
