Four killed over petty dispute in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: Four people were killed and one was injured in a clash between two rival groups over a petty dispute here on Monday.

Police and local people said that the two groups opened firing on each other after exchange of hot words in Chocki Memraiz locality in the limits of Pabbi police station.

They said that both families were close relatives. The clash started when a motorcyclist hit his cousin mistakenly while carrying milk to market early on Monday morning.

After the incident, women of both the families came out of their homes and exchanged hot words. As a result the men of both sides took arms and opened firing on each other, said Pabbi SHO Alamgir Khan. He said that the bodies and injured were rushed to Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Hospital, Pabbi.

Umair Ali, who was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar in critical condition, told police that his uncle Ramdad Khan opened indiscriminate firing on him and his family members that resulted in death of his father Sadar Ali, mother Jan Taja and younger brother Zubair Ali.

Sartaja, the wife of Ramdad Khan, while registering FIR at Pabbi police station said that her husband Ramdad Khan was killed and her son Junaid Ali was injured by her brother-in-law Sardar Ali, his sons Umair Ali and Zubair Ali.-Correspondent
