LARKANA: A gang of bandits abducted a young man and shot him dead soon afterwards in Dattardino Aghani village, 12 kilometres from here late on Tuesday night.

The armed gang waylaid Abdul Aleem Aghani, Ehsan Aghani and Abdul Ghafoor Aghani near Moria Faqir village when they were returning to the village on motorcycles at midnight, and took away Abdul Ghafoor whom they shot dead after covering some distance near Wada Aghani village, said Aleem and Ehsan who managed to escape from the clutches of the 1(idnappers.

They informed the victim`s family of the incident and they together with other villagers immediately went after footprints of the abductors after receiving no response from the area police, said sources in the village.

After a few hours` search they found Abdul Ghafoor`s body in a water channel near the village and shifted it to Chandka Medical College Hospital in a private ambulance after Naudero government hospital declined to provide them ambulance to transport the body, said the sources.

The victim`s father Sahib Khan Aghani accused three suspects of being involved in the abduction and murder of his son.

He believed his son might have been 1(illed in revenge by relatives of two dacoits Ghulamo Shaikh and Ashraf Aghani who were killed by police 16 years ago. The dacoits` relatives had blamed his family of tipping off police.
