Seven tourists die in GB road accidents

GILGIT: Seven tourists died in two road incidents near Chilas area of the Diamer district here on Tuesday.

The police said a car carrying six tourists skidded of f the Babusar Pass and fell into a ditch, killing five tourists on the spot and injuring another.

The car going to Gilgit-Baltistan was descending the road when it fell into ditch near Laimat village of Chilas.

Local volunteers and the police shifted the injured tourist to Government Hospital, Chilas, where his condition is said to be stable.

According to the police, the dead and the injured belonged to Peshawar.

In another incident, two tourists lost lives when the car they were travelling in fell into a ravine on the Karakoram Highway.

The car coming back to Islamabad from Gilgit met the accident near the Jaila village of Chilas.

Both the tourists were f rom Punjab.

The bodies were shifted to the Government Hospital, Chilas. The identity of the deceased couldn`t be immediately known.
