A live-action sequel to How the Grinch Stole Christmas is in development, with director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer returning. Jim Carrey is reportedly in talks to reprise his role as the Grinch.
Speaking at the UCLA Entertainment Symposium, Howardsaid the project moved forward after the creative team developed a story idea that excited everyone involved.

Carrey famously struggled with the lengthy makeup and prosthetic process during the original film and nearly quit production. However, he completed the role and later received praise from Howard for his commitment.
