SARGODHA: A police constable was allegedly killed after a wanted murder suspect opened fire during a raid in the Kot Momin area on Thursday.
According to police sources, a team raided a hideout in Kot Momin to arrest Kashif alias Kashi. Upon seeing the police party, the accused opened fire, critically injuring Constable Fazal. Theinjured copwasrushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his wounds during treatment, police claimed.
District Police Officer (DPO) Taugeer Muhammad Naeem took notice of the incident and ordered the Kot Momin Sub-DivisionalPolice Officer (SDPO) to submit a report of the incident.
Following the incident, SP Investigation Imran Abbas Chadhar reached the spot with a heavy police contingent to oversee the situation.
The police have formed special teams to track down the fleeing suspect, and a massive search operation is currently underway in the area.
OFFICIAL ARRESTED: The Sargodha anti-corruption establishment (ACE) has arrested former revenue Colony Officer clerk Gulzar Hussain for allegedly preparing fake allotment letters.
According to ACE, former clerk Gulzar Hussain, Sargodha Officer Abadi, was arrested by an ACE team on the charge of pre-paring fake allotments worth Rs12.9 million and transferring government land to private individuals through collusion and forgery.
Further investigation is underway while ACE is collecting evidence.
ACCIDENT: A speeding car hit a motorcycle near Chak 71 Nallah on the Sargodha-Khushab Road, seriously injuring the rider and a passerby.
According to police, biker Zafarullah Khan (50) and passerby Marwat (36) were seriously injured af ter being hit by a speeding car near Chak 71 Nallah, while the unidentified car driver fled the scene.
Rescue 1122 provided immediate medical assistance to theinjured and shifted them to the hospital. The Jhal Chakian police were investigating.
ARMED ATTACK: A 24-yearold youth was injured when armed men allegedly scaled the walls of a residence and opened fire on the victim over an old enmity in Chak 11, South Mustafa Abad (Virkan Wali), located in the Kot Momin town of Sargodha.
Rescue 1122 shifted the victim, identified as Chand Ali, to the Kot Momin THQ Hospital for treatment while the suspects fled the scene following the attack.
Localpolice have cordoned off the area, secured the crime scene, and are collecting evidence to investigate the motive and track down the fleeing suspects.
