GUJRAT: The ACE claims to have arrested two senior officials of the land revenue department and an Arazi Record Centre from Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin districts on Thursday.
A senior official of Gujranwala ACE headquarter said Naib Tehsildar Gujrat Parvez Akhtar had been arrested red-handed while receiving the bribe amount from a citizen Wasif Raza Haider.
An ACE Gujrat team, headed by circle incharge Adnan Tarrar, conducted a trap raid and arrested therevenue officer with the tainted amount of Rs20,000.
Afirst information report 30/2026 under section 161 of PPC, 5/2/47 PCA has been registered against the arrested suspect at Gujrat ACE police station.
Similarly in another such raid at Mandi Bahauddin ARC, an ACE team arrested service center incharge Rana Nauman while receiving the bribe from a man. The ACE team also recovered the tainted amount of Rs100,000 from Nauman.
An FIR number 18/26 has been registered against him with MandiBahauddin ACE police station. Meanwhile, the ACE arrested the manager of Suthra Punjab Authority in Shakargarh tehsil of Narowal.
Tehsil Manager Khizer Jamal was caught redhanded while receiving the bribe amount of Rs50,000 from a citizen as the ACE Narowal team also recovered the tainted amount from the suspect. A case was registered against him.
