TAXILA: Two minor siblings died and three other persons, including their mother, were critically injured af ter a fire broke out due to gas leakage in their house in Mohalla Sadiqabad here on Thursday.

According to eyewitnesses and the family members, the wife of Murad Khan was on the stove to prepare food when the house caught fire due to the gas leakage. The couple ran outside the house to save themselves from the flames, however, their two minor sons identified as Sudas Khan, 4, and Owais Khan, 5, who were sleeping in a room were burnt alive.

Rescue 1122 later extinguished the fire and retrieved the bodies from a room. Three other family members, including a brother of the deceased, their mother and grandfather were injured and shifted to Rawalpindi due to their critical injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, the firefighters took half an hour to reach the place of the incident due to obstacles placed by locals in the street to blockheavyvehicles from passing through the area.-Correspondent
