QUETTA: Hundreds of workers and supporters of Jamaat-i-Islami staged protest rallies across Balochistan demanding restoration of peace, end to target killings and recovery of all missing persons.
The protest rallies were held in Khuzdar, Loralai, Zhob, Mastung, Lasbela, Dera Murad Jamali, Dera Allah Yar, Awaran, Jhal Magsi, Gandawah, Jaffarabad, Sohbatpur and Naseerabad.
Addressing these ral-lies, JI leaders said the people of Balochistan are no longer demanding only constitutional, political and economic rights, but they are now demanding peace and security which is the main responsibility of federal and provincial governments.
Had the federal government accepted legitimate demands presented during the last year’s long march, the province would not have faced this grave security crisis, they said.-Staff Correspondent
