LAHORE: All public and private educational institutes in the province will remain closed for two days Monday and Tuesday -owing to the fragile law and order after the Islamabad operation.
Two notifications one by the school education department and the other by the Punjab Higher Education Department were issued on Sunday followed by an announcement of Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan.
The notifications state that all private and pubic educational institutions in the province will remain closed on Monday andTuesday due to the prevailing law and order situation across the province after the Islamabad operation.
Meanwhile, a Punjab University spokesman also issued a news release stating [that] as per direction of the government, the university will remain closed on Nov 27 and 28. The PU has also postponed examinations being held on Monday and Tuesday and the new date will be announced later.
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) announced that all examinations scheduled for Nov 27 and 28 were postponed.Academic activities at all medical and dental colleges in public and private se ctors will remain suspended on Nov 27 and 28 and all practical or theory examinations of the UHS have been postponed.
The decision has been taken on the directions of the Punjab Specialised Healthcareand Medical Education Department.
The new exam schedule would be announced later, said a UHS spokesperson on Sunday.
However, applications for admission to 34 private medical and dental colleges would be received on both days, said the spokesperson.
