LAHORE: The Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) continued its sit-in outside the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday with no heed paid to their demands by the government.

A number of delegations from Punjab Teachers Association, lawyers and labour organisations also visited the protesting college teachers to show solidarity and urged the government to implement their promised demands.

Some of the students of different colleges also reached the protest site and performed a stage drama showing the plight of the teachers and also vowed to suppon their demands.

Later, a poetry event was also organised in favour of the demands of the college teachers.

The demands of the PPLA included pay protection and service regularization of regular/contract lectures of badges 2002, 2005, 2009 and 2012 besides improvement in service promotion structure.-Staff Reponer
