ISLAMABAD: Defending champions Army started their campaign in the National Netball Championship with a resounding 37-9 victory against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the Pakistan Sports Complex here on Thursday.

In day`s other matches, Wapda triumphed over Islamabad 38-24, Navy secured a comfortable win against Balochistan 29-18, Punjab defeated PNF Elite 26-6, KP emerged victorious over GilgitBaltistan 29-24 and Police outplayed Islamabad 30-18.

A total of 14 men`s teams from various departments and provinces are participating in this event, alongside 12 teams vying in the women`s category.

In the women`s event, Army demonstrated their strength by defeating PNF Elite 25-6.

Wapda also showcased a dominant performance with a 34-5 win over Azad Jammu and Kashmir, while Punjab edged past KP 18-10.

Sindh had convincing victories against Balochistan (39-5) and Gilgit-Baltistan (22-6), and Rose Academy defeated Punjab 32-14.-Sports Reporter
