Offices of four illegal housing schemes sealed

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Saturday sealed offices of four illegal housing schemes and six shops constructed there.
The housing schemes, located on Chakbeli Road and G.T.
Road, were advertising their schemes without the approval of the civic body.
According to RDA spokesman Mohammad Irfan, RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi asked the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) branch to take strict action against illegal housing schemes.
He said the enforcement team conducted operation andsealed six shops and four site offices of illegal housing schemes, Atomic Energy Employee Society, Rawal Garden Rawat on G.T Road Rawalpindi and Taqwa Town and Al-Buraq Enclave on Chakbeli Road Rawalpindi.
Final notices also issued to the owners of three illegally constructed houses in Atomic Energy Employee Society asking them to vacate the houses as they would be razed.
He said that under Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010 notices were being issued to the owners of these four illegal housing schemes.
`The owners of these properties were running illegal housing schemes site of fices in viola-tion of Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. Many complaints were also received on Pakistan Citizen Portal against these illegal housing schemes,` he said.
He said that RDA had time and again warned people against making investment in any unauthorised housing scheme which was declared illegal by RDA.

He said that RDA Chairman has directed the staff to take strict action against illegal development and construction of booking and site offices and encroachments without any fear or f avour.
