TIMERGARA: The Lower Dir administration has banned construction on state land in Samar Bagh and Munda tehsils here. However,it said that people could utilise the land for agricultural purpose.

Samar Bagh assistant commissioner Noorul Amin and tehsildar Habibullah told mediapersons at Samar Bagh on Sunday that some local people had been blackmailing the administration regarding the state land in the area. They said that any kind of construction on the state land, its sale or purchase had strictly been banned in both the tehsils. They said that the local administration was the custodian of the state land and it would protect it from land grabbers. The tehsildar said that people could utilise the land for agricultural purpose.

The of ficials said that an emergency complaint cell had been set up where citizens could register their complaints about any illegal construction. They said that complaints about construction on state land could also be registered on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Citizen Portal.

SCHOOL PROJECT: Provincial finance minister Muzaffar Said inaugurated construction of a government girls` higher secondary school and black topping of link road at Satanadar area of Balambat here the othr day. Speaking at the function arranged in this regard at Satandar, he said that the government knew about the people`s problems and was committed to resolving them.

Meanwhile, Shafigur Rehman was elected president and Abdul Khalig general secretary of Tanzeem-i-Asateza, Lower Dir. The annual election was held here on Sunday under the supervision of Sahibzada Sadiq Jan, provincial vice-president of the organisation. Other office-holders include Sanaullah vice-president, Mohabat Shah joint secretary and Ikramullah press secretary.

KILLED: Unknown people killed a man identified as Toor Gul, a resident of Enzar Dara, at Tekni Payeed in the jurisdiction of Ouch police station on Sunday. The Ouch police registered a case against the unknown people and have started investigation. Correspondent
