LANDI KOTAL: An armed clash between two rival groups of a pro-government peace committee left two people dead and one injured of Sunday.

Officials said that members of Khan Mohammad and Mehmud groups clashed with each other in Bazaar Zakhakhel area.

The cause of the clash could not be ascertained.

Officials said that at least two armed men were killed and another was injured in exchange of fire that continued late on Sunday with intervals during daytime.

They said that they engaged some local tribal elders to strike a ceasefire between the two groups. Clashes, however, continued till late on Sunday.
