


Terrorism bid foiled; militant arrested

BAHAWALPUR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a bid of terrorism and arrested a militant of the banned outfit here on Thursday.
Reports said the Counter Terrorism Department was alerted about the presence of a militant who wanted to attack the CTD office.
CTD in-charge Akmal Basra said a raid was conducted near the old bus stand and militant Israr Bashir of Lahore was arrested.
Belonging to the banned outfit SSP, the accused was carrying a hand-grenade in a bag when arrested.
The accused was shifted to some undisclosed location for further investigation.
The security was tightened around the Counter Terrorism Department office and in the town as well.
