Smuggled items worth millions of rupees seized

QUETTA: The Customs authorities seized smuggled goods worth millions of rupees from eight passenger coaches and a train.

The Collector of Customs for Quetta, Ashraf Ali, said: “We impounded eight passenger coaches bringing pilgrims from Iran to Quetta and confiscated smuggled items including automobile spare parts, Iranian carpets, plastic, shampoos, tyres and edible items.

He said the operation was conducted after receiving information about the smuggling of contraband goods in the vehicles.

The Customs authorities along with the FC officials recovered foreign goods from a train coming from the border town of Chaman to Quetta and recovered hundreds of mobile phones.
