Anti-measles drive `covered 21m children` in Punjab

LAHORE: Around 21 million children were inoculated across the province during the recently concluded anti-measles campaign.
Health department vaccinators inoculated 10 per cent more children against the target of 19.8 million in the age group of six months to seven years, Health Services DirectorGeneral Dr Munir Ahmad said on Wednesday.
He thanked all the district administrations of the province, CEOs of health authorities, international development partners, including Unicef, WHO and GAVI for extending all out support to the department for making the campaign that continued for 14 days a success.
Dr Munir was all praise for the 100,000 trained workers who being members of 16,500 teams went door-to-door even in far-flung areas for the vaccination of the children.
