MANSEHRA: An official of an intelligence agency was shot dead by an unidentiñed attacker in Oghi tehsil here on Tuesday.

The victim identified as Ali Asghar was on way to office on a motorbike when an unknown gunman appeared in front of him near the government high school, Oghi, and opened fire on him, leaving him seriously injured. Asghar, who received six bullets, died while being shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, Abbottabad. Theattackerescaped the area.

`We have started investigation and took over a dozen suspects into custody during a search and strike operation following the incident,` DIG Hazara division, Alchtar Hayat Khan Gandapur, told reporters after visiting the crime scene.

`Initially we are investigating the motives behind the killing and those involved in the incident would be traced and taken to justice,` he added.

The body was dispatched to the native village after his funeral prayers were held at FF centre in Abbottabad.
