FDE schools to get 200 new buses

2015-10-30
nder a reform package the government will provide 200 new buses to the schools being run by Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

New teachers will also be recruited in the coming months.

If these two measures are taken, public sector schools may be in a position to compete with the growing private sector schools.

Public schools are currently facing an acute shortage of buses, forcing parents to enroll their children in the 20 overcrowded model schools/colleges that possess transport facilities.

Under the supervision of Maryam Nawaz, a committee is currently working on a reform package to improve public sector schools in the federal capital.

PML-N MNA Marriyum Aurangzeb, who has been visiting public sector schools to determine the problems facing students and teachers while talking to a group of parents at a public school on Thursday said: `It is our duty to bring a visible change in public sector schools. We are going to provide them 200 buses to mitigate transport problems of students. In addition to this, in the next few months most likely in February we will appoint new teachers to end the shortage of teachers.
