Six arrested in murder case of two brothers

TAXILA: Police claimed to have resolved the blind murder of two brothers and arrested six people.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar region retired Capt Dost Mohammad told a press conference that the decomposed bodies of the shepherd brothers identified as Fareedon Khan alias Sher Khan and Kala Khan were found in the mountain range of Salargah in the limits of Taxila police on Feb 23.

Their cattle, comprising over 100 sheep and goats, were found missing.

Mr Dost said a police team led by Inspector Qazi Faisal Manzoor acting on a tip-off traced the suspects in village Shadi near Taxila.

He said police arrested Islam Gul, Izzat Gul, Rehmat Ali, Rehman Gul, Umer Ghani and Saleem Khan who during interrogation confessed to axing the two brothers to death to steal their cattle.

Mr Dost said police recovered the cattle valuing Rs1.60 million from the possession of the suspects.
