100 innovative projects exhibited at IIUI careers fair

ISLAMABAD: Students from International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) exhibited 100 innovative projects on Tuesday at the 10th open house and careers fair organised by the university`s Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
Projects showcased included solar and formula cars, an advanced application-based operatable wheelchair, eye technology, a healthcare monitoring systems, an electric wheelchair, smart energy metres, a water distribution system and power generation projects.
The projects were also viewed and analysed by industrialists and engineering experts, who chose students for career-building.
The event was inaugurated at new campus by IIUI Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai, IIUI President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) Member Materials Qamar Mehboob.
They were accompanied by Vice President Dr Aqdas Naveed Malik, Dean Mohammad Amir Khan, heads of departments and other faculty members.Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mehboob praised the projects and the students` efforts. He urged the university to conduct interaction activities between technology and engi-neering students and the industry, saying links between academia and industry could resolve issues.
The rector also lauded the projects and said that the coun-try, through its talented engineers, could solve the power shortfall issues through innovative power generation projects.
