Two ‘militants’, seminary teacher arrested

HYDERABAD: Jamshoro police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two militants and a seminary teacher in a raid on a hideout in the early hours of the day.

They said the militants belonged to the Shaharyar group of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. Five hand-grenades, two TT pistols and 10 kgs each of explosives and chemicals were seized from them, they added.

Jamshoro SSP Tariq Wilayat told the media that the raid was carried out in the Sikandarabad area of Kotri taluka. He identified the suspects as Bahauddin, Shahuddin and Gul Zareen.

He said Bahauddin and Shahuddin hailed from South Waziristan. Gul Zareen teaches at a seminary and was arrested for his suspected links with the militants.
