HYDERABAD: Leaders of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F Sindh chapter Maulana Nasir Soomro, Taj Mohammad Nahyoon and Aslam Ghori have said that those who planned the murder of Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro are being patronised by the government as they are not being exposed even after the arrest.

Addressing a press conference in a local hotel on Wednesday, they said the rally being staged on April 2 in Hyderabad was aimed at reaffirming their resolve to protect religious seminaries and the Namoos-e-Risalat.

Nasir Soomro complained that JUI-F events were not given due coverage by media usually. He condemned closure of 40 seminaries and registration of cases under Loudspeakers Act against 50 Ulema, belonging to the JUI-F by police.

He expressed satisfaction over the arrest of the murderers of his father. But, he said, those who had planned the killing were being patronized and given protocol by those in the government. He named Agha Siraj Durrani in this regard. He denied that any evidence was found that linked Pir Hussain Shah of Qambar-Shahdadkot with this assassination, but the arrested accused were his disciples.

He rejected reports that his father`s assassination was an offshoot of any dispute over land, religion or regarding any person.
