KARACHI: A man and his son were among five people 1(illed in gun-cum-grenade attacks in Kalakot and Baghdadi areas of Lyari on Friday, according to officials.

Suspected gangsters kidnapped one Abdul Ghaffar,50, and his son Ghulam Mustafa, 28, from their home in Kharo Lane, Kalakot and gunned them down, said SP City Aftab Nizamani. The SP said he believed they were killed by alleged gangsters belonging to the Uzair Baloch group over suspicion of being informer of the police.

Earlier, members of the Uzair and Baba Ladla gangsfought each other in Singulane area of Kalakot, resulting in killing of one suspect, Mohammed Hanif, and injuries to two others, Abid and Sheeraz.

Ms H alima was killed and Fatima, 3, and Khatun Bibi, 50, were injured when a hand-grenade landed inside their home in Ali Mohammed Mohalla.
