Thin fog, light rain likely

LAHORE: Dense fog that continued to envelope many cities in Punjab, excluding Lahore and Sialkot on Sunday, is going to be lessened in view of the formation of clouds and chances of rain in the next 24 hours.

Fog was shallow in Lahore and Sialkot. But it was thick in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal and Bahawalnagar.

It was misty and partly cloudy in Lahore during the day and the Met office expected chances of some rain.

Shallow fog in the morning was also expected. The maximum temperature was 15 degrees C and the minimum 9 degrees C.

The Met office reported rain and snowfall over the hills in Balochistan and upper parts of the country.

Parachinar received 47mm of rain, Gwadar 16, Pattan 14, Kalam and Lower Dir 13 each, Drosh 12, Malamjabba 5, Pasni 4, Chitral and Zhob 2 each and Quetta 1.

It forecast widespread thunder-rain with chances of snowfall over the hills over upper Punjab, Fata, upper and central KP, GilgitBaltistan and Kashmir in the next 24 hours.

Scattered thunder-rain with snowfall over the hills was also likely over lower KP, eastern Balochistan and lower Punjab.
