SWABI: The 12-kilometre Utla-Beer Gall road and 15km Beer Gali-Amazai road at Gadoon Amazai have been in a dilapidated condition and need an urgent attention of the PTI parliamentarians and the communication and works department to repair them.
If the government gives full attention to the Beer Gali and Amazai area they could become one of the attractive tourist sites in Swabi district because the natural beauty, snowfall and lush green mountains are very much there, but these areas need proper development.
Beer Gali is situated at 64km from the district headquarters in the northeast and at 12km from Ulta village. A visit to the area on Saturday revealed that the people had been facing difñculties in transportation of the goods and essential commodities owing to bad condition of the road.
`The lack of transport mechanism results in increased prices of the commodities,` said Mohammad Sabir of the area. Zahid Khan, another resident, said that it was result of apathy of the parliamentarians that the road had become unfit for use. He lamented that the leaders of various political parties visited them only for votes during elections.
People stay at Beer Gali for the entire nights due to its attractive location, eye-catching greenery and clean environment. The area is located at the mouth of famous Mehaban Mountain Range, which always remains covered with snow and people rush to the area during summer for beating the heat.
Local people said that Mehaban Hill forest was full of different kinds of birds and animals. The area is also famous for fishing. It has been learnt that several influential people have built their houses in Beer Gali areas where they stay in summer.
RECONCILIATION: Tehsil nazim Wahid Shah and doctors of the district headquarters hospital have managed a patch up after some misunderstanding a few days ago.
The relations between the doctors and nazim got strained when the latter brought his brother-in-law for autopsy after an incident a few days ago. His supporters had broken the locl( of the postmortem room. This was resented by the medical superintendent and doctors who had staged a protest demonstration against the nazim.
