LAHORE: Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds hit different parts of the provincial metropolis on Sunday, making authorities to issue an alert to relevant departments.

The downpour which eased hot and humid conditions, was reported in northern and central parts of the city, including The Mall, Hall Road, Abbot Road, Simla Hills, Laxmi Chowk, Mozang, Qartaba Chowk, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Canal Road, Multan Road, Chauburji, Samanabad, and Gulberg, experienced significant rainfall.

According to the Met office, an average of 40.4 millimeters of rain was recorded over a two-anda-half-hour period.

Paniwala Talab received 89mm of rainfall, Jail Road 45mm, Airport 89mm, Gulberg 49mm, Laxmi Chowk 72mm,Upper Mall 29mm.
