Gas thieves arrested

PESHAWAR: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has claimed to have confiscated 16,870 feet pipeline and stopped illegal supply to 818 consumers in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, warned to continue the raids and charge gas thieves.

Sharing details with media, a spokesman of the SNGPL said that the operations were conducted by a task force of the utility in coordination with FIA, police and district administration of relevant areas. He said FIRs were registered and many of the people involved in gas theft were arrested on the spot.

It was stated that of these illegal connection 23 were of tandoors, hotels, marriage halls and power generation units.

The raids were conducted during the month of October in various localities of Peshawar including Achini, Sufaid Dheri, Serband, Sangu, Pishtakhara, Landi Akhoon Ahmad, Landi Arbab, Achar, Bahadar Kali, Ahmad Khel, Bazid Khel, Kaga Wala, Marozai, Garhi Naib Khan, Badhber, Urmar, Phandho, Chamkani, Jhagra, Wadpaga, Dalazak Road, Charsadda Road and surroundings areas.Bureau Report
