LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency on Sunday seized a huge quantity of unregistered injections of three pharma companies during a raid on Ferozepur Road.

An FIA corporate crime circle team headed by Deputy Director Jamil Ahmad Khan Mayo conducted a raid at Pak Arab Housing Society and recovered unregistered/ unwarranted and spurious injections of RISK (vile) purportedly manufactured by Getz Pharma.

Mr Mayo said a large number of injections, M Gesic and unlabelled being used by drug addicts for intoxication purportedly manufactured by the Mediate Pharma and Dosaco Laboratories had also been recovered.

`All three companies have disowned the recovered injections and declared them to be spurious,` he said, adding suspect Qaiser Mehmood Sulheri had been arrested and efforts were under way to nab the other suspects involved in this racket.

The suspects were involved in manufacturing and selling spurious drugs across Punjab.

A case has been registered against the main suspects and others under sections 10/18,23,270fDrugs Act1976.

Meanwhile, an FIA team raided a factory on Sargodha Road and arrested Wasim Tahir for preparing counterfeit paint in the name of Brighto Paints. Counterfeit stickers, packing material, machinery and paint had been recovered. A case has been registered against the suspect for violation of the copyrights.
