Makhdoom Hasib discusses political situation with Ayaz Palijo

HYDERABAD: The grandson of Makhdoom Zaman Talibul Maula, Makhdoom Hasibuz Zaman, met Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) President Ayaz Latif Palijo on Friday and discussed with him the political, social and educational situation in Sindh.

He congratulated Mr Palijo on his outstanding role in countering conspiracies being hatched against Sindh. Gulbadan Mirza, the women wing incharge of the Sindhi Adabi Board, and Sahar Ayaz Palijo were also present, says a QAT press release.

Mr Palijo said that 80 million Sindhis would neither give even a single drop of water from Indus river nor an inch of Sindh’s land. He said that after giving away Sindh’s resources, rivers and lands, rulers are now conspiring against its unity. ‘We will not allow Sindh to be divided in the name of new provinces,’ he said.

He said there was no merit in the province as the Sindh Public Service Commission had been turned into a marketplace for corruption.

Corrupt and anti-people mafias had grasped power, he observed, adding that as long as tainted people remained in power, neither Pakistan nor Sindh would progress.

He maintained: ‘We want an egalitarian democracy where rights are equal. We control resources and have the right to jobs as well as access to health, education and basic facilities.

He said that due to bad governance, Pakistan was facing a serious political and economic crisis. Economic policies were anti-people and inflation had led to an increase in poverty, he added.

He said that instead of pinning hopes on corrupt rulers, the people of Sindh should intensify their struggle to protect their homeland, Indus river, lands, resources against corporate farming, corruption, merit violation and bad governance.

He stated that the federal government had ignored Sindh, turning it into a hotbed graft where new methods were being invented every day.
