Another accused held in lynching case

MARDAN: Police on Friday arrested another accused in the lynching case of Mashal Khan, a student of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, after identifying him through a video, raising the number of total arrested persons to 50.
Police officials confirmed the detained accused was a student of Abdul Wali Khan University, adding he was identified as Khayal Said.
The police said they presented the accused Khayal Said and Ali Khan -an office assistant of the university who was taken into custody the other day, before the anti-terrorist court, which sent both of them to police custody on a two-day remand.
FEUD CLAIMS LIFE: A heated exchange of arguments between two rival groups a few days back led to killing of a married woman in Kaskoonu area here on Friday, police said.
A man lodged an FIRwith the Par Hoti police station, stating that he along with his wife was sitting inside his home when his rivals came in and opened fire, killing her on the spot.
The complainant said he narrowly escaped the fire.
He told police that he and members of his rival family had exchanged hot words a few days ago over a domestic dispute. The police booked four persons in the FIR.
On the other hand, the police also registered cross FIR in the same incident on the complaint of a member of the rival family following the murder of his brother the other day.
In his FIR, the complainant stated that he along with his brother was on his way home from shop when their rivals opened fire over them, killing his brother, 22, on the spot.
In the cross FIR, the complainant nominated brother of the husband of the slain woman and another person.
