PM visits his constituency

LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited his constituency in the Walled City and talked to party workers on Monday. It was his first visit since the start of the Panama Papers probe.

Prior to his tour, which remained confined to Food Street of Fort Road, he was briefed about the development projects in Punjab at the CM secretariat.

Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) officials informed him about the water supply and sewerage projects in the Walled City.

The media was not allowed to cover the functions.

Spealcing at the meeting and later to party activists, the prime minister said his government had not only improved law and order in the country but also economic indicators.

He said he was not aware of the agenda of PML-N rivals but his government was following the agenda of progress which he vowed to continue despite all obstacles and conspiracies.

Referring to the sit-ins staged by the opposition PTI and PAT, Mr Sharif said those who had voted for the proponents of `sit-ins, abuses and accusations` were now repenting on their choice.

In a hint to the various ongoing uplift projects, he said the PML-N had changed the face of Lahore and Punjab through development. About changing priorities of voters, he said people now wished to have the facilities of clean water and a functional sewerage system besides rapid transport services.

The prime minister lauded hard working of hisyounger brother and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in executing projects at a fast pace and said Shahbaz was taking full interest in the development of Lahore and Punjab.Nawaz Sharif said he was very happy to meet the workers and recalled that his relation with them started way back in 1985. This longstanding relation, he said, was strengthening with the passage of time.

He lauded the workers for bearing hard time with patience along with the leadership and termed these workers precious asset of the party.
