LAHORE: Governor Balighur Rehman on Monday approved the nominations of syndicate members in the public universities as a chancellor.

The chancellor approved three deans of different faculties of the LahoreCollegeforWomenUniversity Prof Intesar Ahmed, Dr Muhammad Afzal and Dr Syeda Faleha ZahraKazmi as members of the syndicate foraperiod ofthreeyears.

He approved the nomination of Prof Muhammad Afzal, vice chancellor of the Baba Guru Nanak University, Nankana Sahib, as a member of the Jhang University Syndicate while Prof Dr Muhammad Alam Saeed nominated as syndicate member of University of Education for a period ofthree years.

The governor extended the addi-tional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor of the University of Jhang in favour of Dr Nabila Rehman, director of the Institute of Punjabi and Cultural Studies at the University of the Punjab for three months.

Meanwhile, the Punjab University syndicate appointed Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, who has served as VC of a public university for a complete tenure, as full-time Prof Emeritus of Zoology with effect from April, 2023.
