ISLAMABAD: Despite the problems arising from floods, energy crisis and world-wide inflation, the progress made by the economy during the current financial year (1973-74) demonstrates its ... strength and resilience, according to the Economic Survey issued here this evening [June 5]. According to the Survey, the growth potential of the economy is reflected in the increase in agricultural and industrial production. The overall growth rate in agriculture during the current year was over five per cent. ... In industrial sector, the initial estimate for the current year placed industrial growth rate at seven per cent, which may possibly be exceeded.

... Primary emphasis has been placed on agriculture. ... In the industrial sector, the emphasis has been on better utilisation of capacity through liberalisation of raw material imports. ...
