MUZAFFARGARH: Two youths drowned in the Chenab while taking a bath while as many others were rescued here on Tuesday at Rohilanwall, some 35 kilometres from the city area.
According to police and rescue officials, two youths drowned in the Chenab when they jumped into the water.
With the help of locals, Mubashir and Shafiq were rescued.
Rescuers recovered the bodies and handed them over to families.
ARREST: Police have traced the suspects who raped and killed a 13-year-old girl.
The daughter of a labourer was abducted by unknown persons on June 13 from Iqbalnagar, a suburb of Burewala, and they raped and killed her and dumped the body in a sewer.
Police arrested main suspect Wasim Ahmed, a resident of Channu Morr.
Multan RPO Riffat Mukhtar, Commissioner Engineer Amir Khattak, Vehari DC Muhammad Rafiq Ahsan, DPO Rana Shahid Pervez and others visited the house of the slain girl and assured her parents of justice. They offered fateha for the departed soul.
Later, DPO Rana Shahid Parvez told a press conference that police had produced Wasim Ahmed before a court.
