CHARSADDA: Two people were killed and another was injured when a vehicle overturned due to a tyre burst near Charsadda interchange on the motorway here on Wednesday, the police said.

They said the vehicle was taking tourists from Kohat to Swat when it met the accident. Police said the driver lost control over the steering wheel after one of its tyres burst and the vehicle overturned.

As a result, two people were killed on the spot and one was injured.

The deceased were identified as Shahzad and Zeeshah. The bodies and the injured, Jehanzeb, were shifted to a hospital.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child drowned in Khiali River near Shabarra while taking a dip in the water to beat the heat.

Also, the locals recovered the body of a man from the Swat River near Tangi area. They shifted the body to hospital where it was placed for identification.
