LAKKI MARWAT: Three people were injured in a grenade-cum-firing attack in Daulatkhel area here late on Wednesday night.

`The attack prompted villagers to resort to firing in the air as they thought it a terrorist attack,` said a local resident. He said the villagers started firing when they heard the blast followed by gunfire.

Police identified the injured as Mohammad Arif, 29, Abdul Wahid, 39 and Ihsanullah 38 and said they had been shifted to Government City Hospital.

They said the assailants managed to escape from the area.

An injured, Mohammad Arif, told police that he and his friends were sitting in the guestroom of lhsanullah when they saw a flashlight. He said he came out of the guestroom and yelled at suspects including Shafiq, Naseer and Mustafa, who hurled a grenade and also opened fire.Correspondent
