KARACHI: The Sindh police`s Counter Terrorism Department in a joint operation with Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Saturday apprehended a `terrorist` planning an attack on law enforcement agencies and sensitive installations in Karachi.

The arrested suspect identified as Zakirullah alias Shafiullah alias Zahid Ali son of Taj Mohammad, who had recently returned from Afghanistan, during preliminary interrogation said that he was affiliated with the banned Tehreek-iTaliban Pakistan (TTP) and Daesh, as the militant Islamic State is also known, said a news release.

The arrested suspect confessed that he had received militancy training from TTP in Afghanistan and his involvement in a number of attacks on LEAs and armed forces. Raids were being conducted to apprehend his other accomplices.-APP
