WHILE it is pleasant to see groovy and illustrious LED-lit abstract designs being carved out onto the sidewalls of the lifeless KPT underpass, it is unfathomable how the local government could miss the dangerous potholes that cause all sorts of problems to those using the underpassevery day.
Motorcyclists are seen swerving around these deep and deepening potholes in a bid to dodge them, but this has often resultedin serious accidents.
The throw-and-roll repair method is a half-hearted attempt that solves the problem only temporarily and is usually done for optics and nothing else. This does no good. All it needs is to dump asphaltic material on to the potholes and drive a large roadroller over it. That is it. Why is that not being done? The relevant authorities should find a permanent solution to these irritating, life-threatening potholes in the KPT underpass on a priority basis.
