E-library at UAF for girl students

TOBA TEK SINGH: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad(UAF)recently inaugurated an electronic library at the ICT centre adjacent to the girl hostels.

The library, equipped with modern facilities, aims to cater to the female students residing in UAF hostels.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan opened the library and emphasised the importance of books as valuable companions that can pave the way for development.

Dr Iqrar urged the students to dedicate their attention to educationand research, enabling them to contribute significantly to the country`s progress through the power of knowledge.

Additionally, the UAF has extended the application deadline for the first entrance test of postgraduate admissions until June 9.

Director of Graduate Studies Dr Faisal Saeed Awan announced the first entry test will take place on June 17 and 18.

Registration for the second entrance test of postgraduate admissions will be open from June 30 to July 10, with the test scheduled for July 23 and 24.

MINISTER: Federal Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir Khan says the power sector is being made more consumer-friendly through the implementation of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI)technology.

He made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the newly established AMI Cell at Fesco Computer Centre.

The AMI will provide Fesco and its consumers with real-time access to metre data, enabling better control over electricity theft, technical losses, and over-billing. It will also aid in f ault tracing and prompt restoration of power supply in case of outages.

The provision of comprehensive electricity usage information on smart mobiles and computers will allow consumers to effectively manage their electricity usage and reduce wastage.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist, Yasin, lost his life after colliding with a donkey cart on Chichawatni Road in Kamalia.

Yasin, who was returning to his village from afuneral, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the Kamalia THQ hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

BEE ATTACK: Two children, Mueez Ahmad (4) and Abdul Hadi (2), along with 80-year-old Ayub sustained serious injuries when they were attaclced by honey bees at Faisalabad`s Madina Town X blocl( park.

Rescue 1122 personnel shifted them to the DHQ hospital.

CHAMBER: The Federal Ministry of Commerce has approved establishment of the `Toba Tek Singh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Junald Anwar, prime minister`s special adviser and PML-N MNA, said he had obtained a license from the Regulator of Trade Organisations in response to his request for the chamber`s formation.
