KARACHI: Five personnel of the Anti-Vehicles Lifting Cell (AVLC) were dismissed from service on Sunday and booked in a case over their involvement in an illegal raid in Manghopir, officials said.
AVLC SSP Khalid Mustafa Korai said Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ramzan, ASI Saeed Khan and constables Nazeerul Haq, Nasir Khan and Fahad had been awarded the major punishment of dismissal from service with immediate effect.
He said that an inquiry was ordered after footage of the illegal raid went viral on social media.
He added that they were booked in a case registered under Sections 365-A (kidnapping or abducting for extorting property, valuable security, etc), 337-H (punishment for hurt by rash or negligent act) and 395 (dacoity) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
