Taylor Swift joins Songwriters Hall of Fame

Taylor Swift has been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, alongside Lyle Lovett, Shawn Camp, Lee Thomas Miller, Bruce Channel and J.I. Allison.

Swift signed her first publishing deal in Nashville at 14. At the induction ceremony, she recalled learning the basics of songwriting from other writers and said her Nashville experience helped her explore different musical genres.

Singer Brad Paisley, who took Swift on tour early in her career, introduced her as ‘the voice of a generation’.

The ceremony also honoured country music star George Strait with the Career Maker Award for his contributions to songwriters over his five-decade career.
