One injured in cylinder blast

SAHIWAL: A tea stall owner was injured when a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder exploded at his set-up in a small market between the Depalpur and Pakpattan bazaars in the city on Monday.

Kashif, 50, was running a tea stall in a narrow street. The gas cylinder in his stall blasted and its hre spread to the nearby shops. Kashif was critically injured and shifted to the district headquarters (DHQ) teaching hos-pital. The blast was so intense that three shops, including a cloth shop of one Munshi Sardar, and two motorcycles parked in the street were also burnt to ashes.

There was a rush in the market when the explosion occurred and fire engines of the Rescue1122 foundithard toreach the burning shops due to encroachments.

Rescuers said it took them an hour to control the fire. Correspondent
